About Us
We are an exciting, brand-new Independent Garage and MOT Centre opening soon in Harrow! Armed with a modern workshop setup, state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, and fresh facilities, we are building a premier automotive repair team from scratch. As an ambitious independent business with clear expansion plans for the future, we offer a fantastic environment for professionals who take pride in their work. We are now seeking a dedicated and reliable MOT Tester to run our brand-new, modern testing bay.
The Role
As our dedicated MOT Tester, you will take full ownership of our brand-new MOT testing lane. You will work closely with our Workshop Manager and Service Advisor to ensure a smooth, efficient flow of vehicles through the station. When not testing, you will assist the team with light vehicle servicing and maintenance, making this a varied and engaging role.
Key Responsibilities
- MOT Testing: Carry out independent, high-quality, and efficient MOT tests in strict accordance with DVSA and VOSA guidelines.
- Compliance: Maintain meticulous testing records, ensure all equipment is calibrated, and keep the MOT bay fully compliant with legal standards.
- Vehicle Assessment: Accurately identify and document vehicle faults, failures, and advisories, translating them clearly onto the system.
- Support Repairs: Assist the wider team of 6 technicians with fast-fit tasks, routine servicing, and light mechanical repairs when the MOT diary allows.
- Quality Control: Deliver honest, professional, and reliable assessments to protect both customer safety and our garage’s brand-new reputation.
What We Are Looking For
- Licence: An active, valid DVSA MOT Tester licence (Class 4 and 7 essential).
- Experience: Proven experience working as a qualified MOT Tester in a professional workshop environment.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive up-to-date knowledge of DVSA standards, testing criteria, and compliance regulations.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, a clean testing record, and a proactive attitude toward helping the workshop floor.
- Driving Licence: A full, clean UK Driving Licence is essential.
